Balsa River Rafting
White Water Rafting in Costa Rica is not only about paddling! Combining a challenging adventure and the magnificent Costa Rican nature, it is a must for any visitor who likes to enjoy life at most. In general, this white-water rafting adventure takes place in a 10 kilometers long section of the Balsa River, which includes over 20 challenging class II and III rapids.
Once at the river, an expert guide will give you a safety talk, the specialized equipment necessary, and a detailed explanation about some of the principle rafting techniques. Then, you’ll start floating down the Balsa river as you experience the excitement and adrenaline. The forest aside the river will be a great stage to spot monkeys, sloths, and a bunch of aquatic birds, Additionally, you’ll have the chance to swim in calm river pools isolated between the river canyon.
Finally, after an incredibly fun day in the white waters, we will drive back to La Fortuna for a delicious traditional lunch prepared on a wood-burning stove, just like our grandmothers used to do it! It will be followed by an interactive Trapiche Tour, where you will explore aspects of the culture and experience traditions of Costa Rica, including sugar cane processing and the taste of natural juice and fruit.
