A visit to the most scenic waterfall in the region
Once we get the chocolate energy, we’ll drive to La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve, where you’ll have the chance to enjoy a majestic 210 feet high fall. A five hundred meters downhill hike will lead you to the base of this impressive water body, where a “natural pool” awaits if you want to swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river. You might spot a variety of animals as this place is in the middle of the Arenal Volcano National Park.
Plus, there are some other attractions you might want to enjoy such as the open-air butterfly garden, which respects each pollinator function within the surrounding ecosystem. Another attraction is The Orchid Trail, where you will find a natural exhibition of over 150 different types. Lover of flora or not, orchid’s behavior will amaze every kind of person for sure.

Please remember that the hike up and down the waterfall is fairly demanding, and not advised for people with limited mobility, physical ailment, or a heart condition. Well, you’ll have to walk along 530 steps.
